The Centre for Global Citizenship Education (GCE) provides college-wide educational curricular design, strategic learning consultation and IIRH program delivery through an equity and social justice lens. Serving faculty, staff, students, with strategic partnerships in the external community, the department offers educational services that advance human rights, equity and global citizenship.
Prior to December 2021, the department was known as the Centre for Global Citizenship, Equity and Inclusion (GCEI) housed within and largely serving the Academic Division. During this period, GCEI collaboratively led the development and delivery of interactive educational programs including the Equity and Inclusion Perspectives Program (for employees) and the Global Skills Digital Badge (co-curricular program for students). With the shift to the IIRH portfolio, GCE will gradually develop its core function as a strategic educational design and advisory service hub for all Divisions.
