Welcome to the School of Communications, Media, Arts and Design
Centennial College's School of Communications, Media, Arts and Design welcomes students interested in studies in communications, media, art, design, advertising, public relations, journalism, integrated media, culture, entertainment, and performing arts programs.
Note: Programs at the Story Arts Centre will be relocating to our Progress Campus. While we are early in the planning stages and will be developing a detailed transition plan, we are currently looking to make this move in Summer 2026. Our music, dance, theatre and performing arts programs continue to be taught at the Performing Arts Centre.
The Story Arts Centre
The campus has a storied past, having achieved worldwide fame as the setting for Degrassi High, one of Canada's longest-running and most successful television productions, which was filmed on location from 1989 to 1991.
Progress Campus
While we're relocating programs from the iconic space in Toronto, we're excited to continue providing a robust learning experience for students at our Progress Campus which offers larger, state-of-the-art facilities, access to a full range of student services — including academic advising, extensive library resources, a student residence, tutoring, counseling, and accessibility amenities — and multiple options for commuters.
The Performing Arts Centre
This new state-of-the-art facility opened in January 2023 in the heart of Scarborough's Golden Mile. The Centre provides students access to high-quality performance and rehearsal spaces, technical equipment, and opportunities to pursue their artistic interests and talents alongside their peers in our Music, Dance, Theatre, and Performing Arts Fundamentals programs. Every aspect of the Performing Arts Centre has been carefully thought out to meet the needs of our performing arts students.
