Marc is a digital strategist with more than 20 years of experience. For almost a decade he developed the online presence of leading business, personal finance and entrepreneurship brands for Rogers Media, then one of Canada's largest magazine publishers. Before that, he worked on the development of a children's website dedicated to the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics for the Internet portal Sympatico.ca.
He has also held product management and digital audience leadership roles with Excite@Home, TD Bank and Yahoo! Canada.
As a consultant, he helps enterprises and small businesses develop and manage their digital strategies, from SEO and social media to website usability and optimization. For several years he ran a retail ecommerce business on the Shopify platform, selling original products designed and created locally.
Before his move to digital, he helped manage the licensing and merchandising of Babar, Tintin, Beetlejuice and other properties for Nelvana, one of Canada's largest animation production houses. As production secretary for a subsidiary, he worked on "The Tale of Peter Rabbit" for HBO, music videos for Rush and other performers, and television commercials. He also worked for a major Canadian legal publisher, contributing to the publication of half a dozen reference books.
He has an MBA from the University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management and a BA (Hons.) from the University of Waterloo. A lifelong learner, he continues to take courses and earn certifications in digital marketing and related subjects. Most of all, he enjoys learning along with his students.
