Centennial College is once again recognized as one of Canada's Top Research Colleges by Research Infosource, ranking first in two key categories and 20th overall in research revenue in 2022. Research Infosource Inc. is widely acknowledged as a leading source of ranking data on research universities, colleges, corporations and hospitals that are used by the research and innovation community.
The Applied Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Services (ARIES) department (ARIES) department, which leads all applied research activity at Centennial, has consistently put the college in the national leadership position (#1) in providing paid student internships in research with 515 internships in the 2021-2022 fiscal year. This past year, ARIES has also secured the largest industry research income percentage among large colleges, placing Centennial first in Canada in the category at 48.9% of the total college research income received from research grants, contracts and contributions.
Student researchers continue to be at the core of all of Centennial’s applied research projects, working with faculty members and industry partners to tackle real-world industry challenges. Through hands-on and experiential learning, students learn technical and professional skills and are highly sought after once they graduate.
