\nQuote: “This experience has taught me how to build professional relationships”
\nThe benefit from this job, it was easy, it was easy for me to go to classes and come to work and back and forth. Another thing that helped, this helped me with, was to overcome myself as an individual. \nQuote: “Take some time for yourself”
\nSo, I would say the number one thing is to learn to be able to have some sleep and to take some time off for yourself. It's truly an amazing thing to be able to be a part of this team and take it back and really grow yourself, at the same time, taking care of yourself and being able to recharge is just as important. So that is the number one advice that I would give to other students working on campus, because I know we're doing many things at once. You can get kind of overwhelming and sometimes we forget to do basic things like taking a nap or I guess napping between meetings and whatnot. So I would really, really wish for on that.
\nAdmin Assistant, Career Services
\nSo my advice is to be open and take any opportunities that come up, even if it does not seem to relate exactly to your field of study or your future career choice.
\nRetail Team Member, Bookstore
\nSo the advice I would give is to ask if you don't know what to do or if you're not sure. Always ask.
\nMember, Experience Centennial Student Leadership Team (ECSLT)
\nMy advice for students while working on campus is to embrace the total experience, either in a paid or volunteer role, and to be open to the varying learning opportunities that comes with it. Also to take advantage of the many services offered by the Career Services Department to help them highlight the skills they have gained on their resumes, and how best to market their skills to potential employers.
\n\n\nI would strongly advise all the students working on campus to get involved with team collaboration, practice soft skills, make use of available resources, ask questions as much as possible and try to showcase all these skills acquired and your overall achievement on your resume and also speak about it in your Interview. On campus job experience does help new grads in a very big way.
