Description | This is a fundamental course which will present learners with a breadth of topics in biomechanics. Subject matter is delivered through in-class lectures which are complemented with laboratory experiments/practicals. Participants will acquire a diverse set of knowledge and skills related to biomechanics and how the subject is integrated into biomedical technology. Skills will include theoretical and practical appreciation of topics such as statics, dynamics, energy methods, kinesiology, thermodynamics, heat transfer, continuum mechanics, fluid mechanics, muscle and cardiovascular systems within the context of biomechanics. An outcomes-based approach will be taken in assessing understanding. |
