Coaching & Communication Skills (45 hours)
This highly interactive course will focus on the exploration of principles and concepts of coaching and the demonstration of effective coaching skills, applied in both the workplace and community settings. Students will have the opportunity to practice coaching with an assigned 'real-life' client and will become familiar with assessment and development tools. Students will also demonstrate an understanding of mindfulness, positive psychology, emotional intelligence and related skills within these areas that can be applied in any work environment. In the context of coaching, an added emphasis on various types of communication tools and skills, including presentation, group dynamics, and relationship dynamics will provide students with an increased ability to interact effectively with employers, colleagues, clients and the community within the legal and ethical parameters of the wellness profession.
