Description | This course is designed for those who would like to obtain an ACE certificate. This is also a very good course for those students who would like to prepare for a career in science, health and health related programs but do not have the necessary mathematics skills. The course integrates appropriate technologies into the learning of mathematics, while recognizing the continued importance of mastering essential numeric and algebraic skills. Through the notion of concept reinforcement students will be able to perform operations on various types of numbers and algebraic expressions using the appropriate order. Students will also be introduced to both the imperial and metric systems of measurement, dimensional analysis and graphical and algebraic approach to solving systems of linear equations. This course is pre-requisite for ACE Technical Mathematics ACE-016 which is required for entry into health, health related and other technology and science related post-secondary programs. |
