| Description | This module introduces design within two broad areas. First, the art of set design and the skills used to realize the set designer’s vision are explored in the context of different types of theatre. Second, costume design for the theatre is introduced, with emphasis on styles and modes of dress from many eras and cultures, as well as how to adapt designs so they are suitable for actors. The workshop component of this course focusses on making/sourcing properties and scenic painting or wardrobe skills such as planning, cutting and sewing. (Design Elective Stream) |
