Description | This course provides an introduction to the key legal concepts that are most pertinent to digital media, film and television production. Beginning with contracting basics, students will focus on interpreting and navigating industry standard contracts such as option agreements and rights assignments. Students will be introduced to intellectual property law and examine the concepts and processes involved in trademark and copyright both in Canada and internationally. Chain of Title and its importance to film and television will also be covered.
