Description | This course provides students with practical experience in a call centre environment for 500 hours over the 16-week placement period. Success for completion of field placement is based on Employer's Evaluation. Work Placement provides students with an opportunity to apply their classroom learning, to gain experience with live call handling, to acquire a better understanding of the call centre environment, and to develop the necessary discipline and acumen to work as effective call centre agents. In addition, Work Placement strengthens the vital partnership between employers and the college faculty and administration. It provides valuable input for validating classroom information and adjusting the curriculum to ensure that it reflects current trends and issues. To be eligible for Work Placement, a student must successfully complete all Semester 1 and 2 courses and achieve at least an average grade of C (grade point of average of 2.0). To graduate from the Call Centre Operations Program, a student must successfully complete all courses, including Work Placement, and achieve at least an overall C grade. |
