Description | This course is design as the first step in understanding: why, how and when is diesel fuel injected in the engine’s combustion chamber. In understanding why, students will be taught about the properties of diesel fuel and be able to compare it with those of gasoline. They will learn about the changes to diesel fuel over the years and how these changes affect the engine and the environment. In Understanding the how diesel fuel is delivered to the engine, Students will be able to map the fuel system and explain the purpose of each component of the fuel system from the fuel tank through the engine and back to the fuel tank. In understanding the when fuel is delivered, students will learn about fuel metering and fuel timing. They will learn about the advantages and disadvantages fuel metering and fuel timing as on the engine and environment. They will also be able to diagnose and repair various problems as it relates to the engine fuel system and its components. |
