Description | This course introduces students to the fundamentals and dimensions of fitness and wellness from a holistic perspective. A strong focus will be placed on behavior change and the benefits of engaging in fitness and health promotion activities for enhanced well-being and the many aspects that contribute to health (physical, emotional, social, environmental, occupational). The course will also include content related to research methods and software applications to familiarize the student with the use of computer technology (accessing emails, creating power point presentations, inputting and storing of fitness data on spreadsheets and successfully searching the internet for research studies) related to the field of fitness/wellness. Students will investigate software packages related to the fitness industry through a course assignment, which will be presented to the larger class for shared learning. |
