Description | This is a senior level course which provides an integrative approach to the major aspects of importing into, and exporting from, Canada. As such, the course requires students to draw heavily on material presented in both the prerequisite and concurrent courses in the International Business curriculum. The course begins with a comprehensive study of the decisions involved in sourcing both component parts and finished goods for use and/or resale in Canada. The course then moves to the “other side of the negotiating table” to examine the tools necessary to secure sales in the international marketplace. Finally the course focuses on those aspects of international buying and selling which are frequently considered jointly: transportation, insurance, distribution agreements, and payment terms. |
