Description | SWS221 is addressing the different technologies used currently to program for the Internet as complex enterprise applications integrate more and more sophisticated features to respond to the evolving requirements of doing business online.
Students will become familiar with the major programming languages, techniques and tools used currently and will be able to understand how these different technologies are integrated in modern Web 2.0 Internet applications.
This course surveys different markup languages like DHTML and XML, several scripting languages with emphasis on JavaScript and Ajax. Other topics covered comprehensively are programming languages and tools for creating dynamic Web applications, and a survey of Web servers and Web services.
Students will also learn how to use various tools to build and debug various coding examples for the different technologies covered in order to be prepared to design, implement and maintain rich Web 2.0 applications. |
