Description | This course is an introduction to law in Canada; providing an overview of the legal system spanning from Confederation to present. Students will discuss the Constitution, the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and present legislation impacting Canada. Students will examine the branches of government, civil liberties, the criminal justice courts, ethics, and access to justice in Canada. This course is will provide students with the foundation knowledge to be built on in their core program courses. |
