Description | Students learn the historical perspective and fundamental concepts of occupational health and safety with specific reference to legislation in Ontario. Students learn to identify and recognize hazards in the workplace as well as how to remove or control them to make a safer workplace. Students will take an in-depth look at the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) and the impact of effective hazard warnings in public and private life. The future of health and safety and the move from WHMIS to the GHS platform of global harmonization of hazards warning is examined |
