Description | Ethics, or moral philosophy, deals with basic issues and questions regarding the nature of life, including questions about what constitutes the “good life”, about what is good or bad, better or worse, and about whether there is any objective right and wrong and how we can know it if there is. This course is an introduction to ethics and moral philosophy and provides an overview of classical as well as contemporary ethical theories/approaches, including coverage of non-western ethical orientations, and an emphasis on global ethics. The course examines a number of the theories, skills and applications of ethics and moral philosophy. Students who successfully complete this course will be able to:
