Description | The Sales and Marketing of products and service occurs at almost every level of the service-oriented Tourism Industry. It is, therefore, essential that all service professionals who choose to follow a career path in this dynamic industry learn the skills necessary to design and deliver a variety of sales presentations for different contexts. Effective selling skills may be simple or complex. Examples may include suggesting suitable travel arrangements for a package holiday, to the more complex process of building and selling an incentive package to a corporate customer. Designing and delivering sales presentations to corporate or association groups seeking meeting space in hotels and conference centres is another illustration of how selling skills are used by tourism professionals. The complexity of the selling situation increases as the employee moves to a higher position within the sales and marketing team. |
