Description | This course seeks to examine the commonalities that exist between Society and Soccer. By examining the sport of soccer, students will have the opportunity to investigate how soccer has helped shape the globe into what it is today. The course explores the differences in gender dynamics that exist not only in soccer but also in societies from around the world. Students have the opportunity to discover and analyze cultural trends and human behaviors influenced by soccer ideology and its effects on "pop culture". Through discussions, research, readings and course content, students explore how soccer has embedded itself into the culture of countries from across the world. |
