| Description | This survey course will provide an overview of the context, key terms, and concepts associated with the practice of sustainable community development. The course will place particular emphasis on sustainability as a framework for meeting the current environmental, social and economic needs of a community. Students will explore and reflect upon their own ecological impact and examine tools and practices currently in use to promote and activate community sustainability in both local and global spheres. Students will draw upon a variety of resources such as articles, videos, blogs, and other resources to deepen their understanding of the dimensions of sustainable community development. Students will also gain an understanding about careers and opportunities in sustainable community development. Course Learning Outcomes
