In addition to having software development, technology, engineering and healthcare related roles and business needs, there are requirements for participating organizations to ensure the successful delivery of each work experience. Businesses must operate in Canada with a registered business number in good standing, have a minimum three staff, be in business for at least three years, and can commit to providing supervision and mentorship to student(s).
The Centennial WILwork program provides employers with flexible recruitment opportunities for your specific business needs.
Participating employers will:
- Receive new ideas, recommendations and solutions to business challenges from a pool of eager new talent
- Enhance your leadership and coaching skills through mentoring students
- Gain an opportunity to diversify your workforce with Centennial’s diverse student population
- Showcase your commitment to innovation and the community
Each program stream has a different time commitment to accommodate your organization's capacity.
For Part-Time Work Experiences, employers host students for 120-288 hours over 12 weeks (10-24 hours a week).
For Industry Group Projects, employers lead students for 12 weeks.
For Hackathons, employers lend their expertise over a period of two to three days.
Centennial staff are available throughout the program. First, they will meet with you to discuss your business needs and identify the best Centennial WILwork option for your organization. Then, they will advertise your opportunity to relevant students and coordinate the rest, including sending resumes to you. Lastly, they will support the success of the students assigned to your organization.
